サーバを異なるネットワークセグメントに分離したいといった場合に、SoftLayerではVLANを追加する事が出来ます。
SoftLayerではSubnetが別でも同一VLANの場合には通信可能ですが、VLANが異なると通信は出来ません（異なるVLANを通信可能ににするためにはVLANスパニングをONにする必要があります）

通常、プライベートネットワーク・パブリックネットワークに一つずつVLANが用意されます。上記の絵のようにvlan#2という「VLAN」を追加する方法をご紹介します。

通常ポータル上からサーバやストレージなど各種サービスをオーダーしますが、VLANの追加は「チケット発行」によりオーダーします。今回はこの「チケット発行」でVLANを追加する方法をご紹介します。

  • VLAN追加の費用は1VLAN辺り$25/月です。

方法

手順は、「ポータルにログインしチケット発行する。」のみですが、VLAN追加においてはチケットに記載する内容がポイントとなります。

チケットに記載する内容

  • VLANを追加する理由
  • 追加するVLANの数
  • 追加するVLANはどのネットワークに作成するかの指定(プライベートネットワーク、パブリックネットワーク、両方を指定可能)
  • 追加するVLANに紐付くIPアドレスの必要数
  • 追加するVLANに関連付けするSoftLayerのRouter

以上の5つをチケットに記載することがポイントとなります。

最後に、VLAN追加の費用を認可することを記載しオーダー処理を進めて欲しい旨を記載していきます。

実際にVLANが追加されたかどうかの確認をしてみました。

確認方法はポータル上から、Network >> IP management >> VLANs で確認できます。

追加されたVLANは以下のシーンにおいても利用できることを確認しました。

  • サーバーオーダー時のVLAN選択シーン
  • vyatta設定時のアソシエイトVLAN選択シーン
  • IPアドレス追加購入時のVLAN選択シーン
  • IPsec設定時のSoftlayer側サブネット選択シーン（厳密にはVLANに紐付くIPサブネットを選択）
